FAQS
Ask Us Anything
The M4 Max is quoted at up to 64 km from a 48V 18.2Ah battery — about 874 Wh, one of the larger packs on a commuter scooter. That figure assumes a lighter rider on flat ground in a moderate power mode. On a realistic mixed route with hills, stops and 10–15 °C weather, a 75 kg rider should plan for 45–52 km, and riding consistently at 45 km/h will bring that closer to 40 km. For a daily 20 km round-trip commute, that means charging every second or third day rather than daily, which is the practical benefit of the larger battery. Charging takes 9–10 hours.
Yes — this is what the M4 Max is built for. Three things make it work as a commuter: an 874 Wh battery that covers most round trips without daily charging, 10-inch tubeless tyres that absorb kerbs and cobbles far better than 8-inch wheels, and an 800W motor with enough torque for traffic-light starts and moderate hills. At 27.5 kg it is also light enough to fold and carry up a few steps, though not to lift comfortably onto a train rack every day. The top speed of 45 km/h puts it above EU road-legal limits, so it is for private land and off-road use only.
The M4 Max is rated for gradients up to 20° with an 800W motor producing around 27 N·m of torque. That handles most urban inclines, bridge ramps and gentle hills with a rider aboard. Two variables dominate real-world climbing: rider weight, and whether you start the climb from a standstill or with momentum. A heavier rider on a long 20° slope will notice the motor working hard, and sustained climbing also drains the battery faster than the range figure suggests. If hills above 20° or repeated steep climbs are part of your route, a dual-motor model such as the G2 Ultra (rated to 26°) or G2 Master (28°) will feel considerably more relaxed.
The M4 Max has a maximum load of 120 kg. Rider weight changes performance in three measurable ways. Acceleration and hill climbing soften first, though the 800W motor still pulls confidently at the top of the range. Range drops next — moving from a 75 kg to a 100 kg rider typically costs 10–15% of real-world range, so a realistic 48 km becomes roughly 42 km. Braking distances lengthen last, which matters most on wet surfaces. For riders over 100 kg who want maximum confidence, the G2 Max with its 1000W motor and 20.8Ah battery offers more headroom in both acceleration and range.
The M4 Max charges in 9–10 hours from empty with its 54.6V 2A charger — an overnight charge is the normal routine given the size of the 18.2Ah pack. Three habits will keep capacity high for years. Charge before the battery falls below 20% rather than running it flat. For regular short trips, stop at 80–90% and charge fully only before a long ride. And store the scooter cool and dry — a hot car or an unheated shed in winter are the two environments that damage lithium cells fastest. If you store it for a season, leaving the pack around 50–60% is better than leaving it full or empty.
Spare parts ship from our EU warehouse, and the M4 Max shares several components with other models in the range. At a 1,000 km check, four items matter: brake pads and discs, which wear fastest in wet or dusty conditions; tyre pressure, worth checking monthly since under-inflation both wears the sidewall and reduces range; the folding mechanism and stem fasteners, which should be re-torqued every 200–300 km; and the charging port, which should be inspected after wet rides. Tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, chargers and controllers are the parts most owners need over time — all are stocked, with setup and repair videos in our resource centre.
